The cheapest milligram of IGF-1 LR3 on our board costs more than the most expensive milligram of tirzepatide anywhere in our data. $34.95 against $32.74. That is the floor of one market beating the ceiling of another.
We repriced IGF-1 LR3 across all 43 vendors we track on August 23, and this turned out to be the cleanest comparison we have ever run. Every single seller offers a 1 mg vial. Identical unit, 43 quotes, and the spread runs $34.95 to $230.00 with the median sitting at exactly $80.00. Our pick of the group is Peptide Crafters at $65.00, and the rest of the shortlist is below.
The most expensive milligram we track
Across the 29 peptides in our pricing pipeline, IGF-1 LR3 is the outlier by a wide margin. BPC-157 has a median of $6.00 per milligram across 58 vendors. TB-500 sits at $7.06. GHK-Cu comes in at $0.70. IGF-1 LR3 asks $80.00 for the median milligram, roughly thirteen times what BPC-157 costs.
The manufacturing explains most of it, and that changes how you shop.
Most of the peptides on our board are short chains built by solid phase synthesis. BPC-157 is 15 amino acids. Semax is 7. You bolt residues onto a resin one at a time and the process scales cheaply. IGF-1 LR3 is 83 amino acids, which puts it in protein territory, so it gets expressed recombinantly in E. coli and then purified. Different equipment, different yield curve, different cost floor.
The upshot: a $34.95 vial and a $230.00 vial are far more likely to differ on real manufacturing input here than they would on a short synthetic peptide. Price alone tells you less than usual, which is exactly why the lab paperwork carries more weight on this compound than on any other we cover.
What the molecule actually is
IGF-1 LR3 takes the 70 amino acid sequence of human IGF-1, swaps arginine in for glutamic acid at position three, and adds a 13 residue extension on the N terminus. That gets you to 83 amino acids (IGF-1 LR3, Wikipedia).
Those two edits do one job: they collapse the molecule's affinity for IGF binding proteins. Repligen, which sells the branded LONG R3 IGF-I as a bioprocessing reagent, puts the reduction at over 1000-fold, and rates the result at roughly 200 times the potency of insulin in cell culture (Repligen). Its actual commercial life is inside bioreactors, where it boosts volumetric productivity in CHO cell lines by up to 62% over unsupplemented culture.
That is the honest identity of this compound: an industrial cell culture supplement that the research chemical market repackaged into 1 mg vials. Sigma-Aldrich has sold the same analog for serum free culture for years.
Two regulatory facts, both brief. The FDA has approved one recombinant human IGF-1, mecasermin, marketed as Increlex, and only for long term treatment of growth failure in children with severe primary IGF-1 deficiency, cleared in August 2005 (FDA label). IGF-1 LR3 itself carries no human approval and every vendor below sells it for laboratory research use. And if you compete under anti-doping rules, exogenous IGF-1 sits in WADA class S2 and is prohibited at all times, in and out of competition (USADA).
Five sellers worth your money
Every name here stocks IGF-1 LR3 today, ships to US addresses, and publishes third party COAs. Each links to its scorecard so you can check the score, the lab, and the price yourself.
Best overall: Peptide Crafters
Peptide Crafters scores 8.3 out of 10 with us and ranks 4th of the 72 vendors on our board. It ships domestically, tests through Finnrick, our top lab tier, and prices its 1 mg vial at $65.00, which lands $15 under the market median. Highest lab tier, below median price, US origin. That combination shows up exactly once in this dataset, and this is it.
Cheapest we would actually buy: Panda Peptides
Panda Peptides lists 1 mg at $44.99. Only one seller on the entire board goes lower, and that one tests in house. Panda publishes Janoshik results, scores 7.8 out of 10, and ranks 14th of 72. It ships to the US from the Greater Toronto Area, so allow a few extra days in transit. At 44% below the median, that is a fair trade.
Highest score on our board: Atomik Labz
Atomik Labz scores 8.6 out of 10 and ranks 3rd of 72 vendors overall, the strongest number of anyone carrying this compound in stock. Finnrick tested, shipping out of Alexandria, Virginia, at $85.00 for 1 mg. You are paying $20 over Peptide Crafters for the best reputation and payment profile we track. Reasonable if you value the record over the receipt.
Best domestic value: SimplePeptide
SimplePeptide runs $60.00 for 1 mg out of Florida, tests through Freedom Diagnostics, scores 8.0 out of 10, and ranks 8th of 72. It is the cheapest US based seller on this list by $5, and the lab tier is solid. Good pick when you want the shortest possible shipping lane.
Janoshik alternative: Penguin Peptides
Penguin Peptides sits at $67.00 for 1 mg, ships from the US, posts Janoshik COAs, scores 8.0 out of 10, and ranks 9th of 72. Our explainer on Janoshik testing covers what those reports actually certify.
| Vendor | 1 mg price | PR score | Lab tier | Ships from |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Peptide Crafters | $65.00 | 8.3 | Finnrick | USA |
| Panda Peptides | $44.99 | 7.8 | Janoshik | Ontario, Canada |
| Atomik Labz | $85.00 | 8.6 | Finnrick | Alexandria, VA |
| SimplePeptide | $60.00 | 8.0 | Freedom Diagnostics | Florida |
| Penguin Peptides | $67.00 | 8.0 | Janoshik | USA |

Vial size is doing more work than you think
Seven vendors list a small trial vial next to the 1 mg. Those run 100 or 200 micrograms at $13.49 to $45.99, which works out to $270 to $460 per milligram. Buying the standard 1 mg vial from the same seller gets you three to four times more compound per dollar.
Going the other direction, exactly one vendor on the board sells a larger size. Pure Health Peptides lists 2 mg at $99.00, or $49.50 per milligram, against $57.00 for its own 1 mg. On most peptides the size ladder is where the savings live. Here there is barely a ladder to climb, so the 1 mg vial is the unit that matters and the seller is the whole decision.
Three things we check on an 83 amino acid product
Standard COA advice applies, and this compound adds a wrinkle worth flagging.
Our take
This is the priciest compound we price, and the market rewards patience. The median milligram costs $80.00 and the sellers we listed run $44.99 to $85.00, so a careful buyer clears the median comfortably while keeping a top tier lab in the chain. Peptide Crafters is where we would start, Panda Peptides is the value play if a few extra shipping days suit you, and our full vendor rankings cover the other 38.
